S-Lift (mini facelift)

The S-Lift is an ingenious technique of rhytidectomy (facelift), rejuvenating and beautifying the lower/ mid-face and neck by reversing the changes that have occurred with ageing. The “S” refers to the shape of the incision in front of the ear.

The Key Elements of the S-Lift

Before surgery, the patient is sedated and relaxed by tablets. Special anaesthetic solution is gently injected in front of the ear, this will not only profoundly anaesthetise the area, and helps lift the skin from the underlying tissue facilitating undermining. The surgery is performed in an almost “bloodless field”.

- The S-shaped incision is placed along the natural curvature of the ear and extended into the temple posteriorly. Due to almost horizontal movement of the temporal flap, there is negligible elevation of the side burns. Most importantly, there is no incision (and subsequent scar) in front of the hairline.

- “Unit lifting” of the fibromuscular structure (SMAS) with the skin attached to it. An almost vertical vector is used to elevate the neck and lower face and another vector to elevate and reposition the mid-face. Common outcomes of a conventional facelift, eg. “wind tunnel”, “mask face look” or “pixie ear” effects, are not possible with the S-Lift.

- After elevation of the SMAS, only redundant skin is removed. This allows meticulous repair of the wound without any tension and is expected to produce an imperceptible scar.

- Most patients are able to return to work a week after the procedure.

- Very high patient satisfaction, natural results and longevity comparable with more aggressive facelift techniques.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. A device like a fine sandblaster is used to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

This type of treatment has been used to treat fine skin wrinkles, some fine skin veins, and pigmentation. This instrument emits pulses of intense light of all wavelengths and hence has a broad spectrum of effect.
Any immediate side effect, usually redness, subsides by the next day, and most people are able to continue their daily activities immediately after treatment. The number of treatments required is variable usually five at least are required but may take up to ten. All at two weekly intervals.

Peeling

Chemical skin peels provide a good skin rejuvenation and help to improve skin texture and tone. The exfoliative response to the chemical can be subtle or dramatic depending on the nature of the peel used and the requirements of the patient.

Selecting the right peel for your individual circumstances helps to get the best result.

Chin Lifts

This procedure can be performed on men or women to enhance the pronouncement of the chin. Often done on patients that have a undersized or receding chin, this procedure helps to enhance the profile of a persons face.
